QIU Haisuo is currently a professor of China Academy of Art, the project leader of “Hang Zhou Silk Painting” – intangible cultural heritage protection, an expert in Zhe Jiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Committee, a member of the standing committee of Hang Zhou Xi Hu District CPPCC, a member of China Artists Association, a member of China Fashion Association, Chairman of Zhe Jiang Folk Artists Association, and Chairman of Zhe Jiang Quilt Association.

 

Her major awarded silk painting clothing works: The Story of Spring won the first prize in the Design Category of the 9th National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts and the first prize in the Design Category of the 10th Zhe Jiang Province Fine Arts Exhibition. Blue Flowers won the third prize in the Design Category of the 9th National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts and the third prize in the Design Category of the 10th Zhe Jiang Province Fine Arts Exhibition. Discovery And Disappearance of Phoenix won the first prize in the Design Category of the 10th National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts, and The Eternal Rose was selected as an exhibited work in the 10th National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts.

 

Both China National Silk Museum and Hang Zhou Arts & Crafts Museum have collections of QIU Haisuo’s silk painting works and these works have been exhibited in many places, attracting great attention around the world. Among them, The Story of Spring participated in “Back Home with Glorious Clothes – 5000 Years China Silk Exhibition” held at the British Nottingham Castle Museum in 2012 and “ The History And Fashion of Chinese Silk Art” held at American Washington Meridian International Center in 2013.
