Magic of Creation – Costume Exhibition for Original Musical

Akina Lei, graduated in Multi-Media Design at Macao Polytechnic Institute, and went on to obtaining the Fashion Design & Manufacturing Diploma at The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM). In the few years following her graduation, Akina has gained her experiences as a Fashion Merchandiser and Image Consultant,both positions at staple corporate in Macau, which had led her to find inspiration in creating her own collection and was featured alongside other designers at fashion shows and exhibitions. With positive response received from the field, Akina started her fashion label “Salut, ca va ?” in 2010.

Brand：“Salut, ca va ?”－ a casual and warm “Hello, how are you?” revolves around us every day, and the meaning stays the same regardless which hour of the day it is being said. Just as our brand stays true to preserve timelessness and remain unaffected by perceived trends, we believe it is most important to create pieces that fit our patrons. Established in Macau, a city enriched by Continental-European cultures, we hope to reflect this uniqueness through the French phrase, and also the vintage, lace designs in our feminine pieces, infused with romanticism.   One of the local Macau fashion brands, “Salut, ca va ?” is a women’s wear established in 2010, with a signature style in feminism and vintage romanticism,various collections featuring casual wear and attires perfect for special occasions.“Salut, ca va ?” offers tailor made services for male and female clients. Some of our creations include bridal gowns, cocktail dresses and special requested outfits for artists. In 2014, “Salut, ca va ?” began its own workshop to further evolve as an independent fashion brand, with an added focus on providing image consultation and costume design for clients including associations and corporations.

Kenneth Leung, a renowned costume designer and one of the most dedicated and experienced costume specialists in Hong Kong.  He graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in Costume Technology and has actively pursued his career as a costume designer and supervisor ever since.  Kenneth has developed a very unique style of dazzling glamour and vibrant colors.  As a frequent nominee for costumes awards, Kenneth was the recipient of the United Airline Award for Best Design in 1995.  He has also won the prestigious award of Best Costume Design at the Hong Kong Drama Awards, four years in a row for his exceptional contribution and fabulous designs in The Insect World with Chung Ying Theatre (2009), Bun in the Cave with Hong Kong Repertory Theatre (2010), Animal Farm with Theatre Noir (2011) and Mr. Diva’s Masterclass with Pichead On Stage (2012) respectively.  In 2005, he joined Hong Kong Disneyland as Senior Cast Image Specialist and Senior Costumer, managing costumers for all operational departments.  In 2008, Kenneth accepted the invitation to work in the Costume and Props Manufacturing Team of the prestigious Cirque du Soleil Asia-Pacific until 2012.

Sandy Ho, holds Professional Diploma in Fashion Design & Manufacturing from CPTTM, and also completed the Occupational Make-up Stylist course.  She is a designer of Amusement Production Studio.  Her recent design works include The Pillowman, Fashshen, and Travelling Hometown.

Carlos Wong, is an art and programme design educator, promoting art education. She has participated in exhibitions, arts and culture activities in Macao, to enhance her venture into the realms of fashion, culture and design.
