Macao Joint Fashion Performance – Mini Exhibition

Jane Chan, with a bachelor’s degree in clothing design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT), worked for Kappa, Jack & Jones, Peak and other brands as designer. Her designs were showcased twice on the fashion trend website, WGSN (Worth Global Style Network). In 2010, she designed torch bearer uniforms for National Intercity Games of the People’s Republic of China, as well as uniforms for numerous national Olympic delegations. She returned to Macao in 2013 and designed her casual wear collection for men, “BOMDIA”, which was selected to the “2013 Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making” by Cultural Affairs Bureau. Now the designer is the director for local brand “MACON”

Brand：MACON is an original fashion brand introduced by Fuson Garment Factory Limited in 2013. It is also the first Macao fashion brand that has successfully launched on the shopping platform TMall.com. By now, MACON has a brick-and-mortar shop in mainland China, attracting lots of shoppers and earning great reviews. By integrating its design concepts with Macao’s characteristics as a city of leisure and tourism, it advocates downshifting and travelling light. Its products aim to be comfortable and simple, thereby injecting a boost of unisex and arty youthfulness.

KC GIDEON, Born to a family in business in the knitting industry for decades in Macao, Tam has been passionate about fashion design since childhood. At sixteen, he went to study in the UK, where he graduated at the Kingston University London, majoring in design, which laid the foundation for his future career. In 2000, he won the London Royal Society of Arts (RSA) Annual Menswear Design Award that garnered him wide attention as an emerging designer. In 2001, he graduated from the university with First-class Honors. Due to his talent and expertise, he had the privilege of working at top fashion houses in the UK and later, in France.

Brand :In 2006, Tam established his personal brand “Placed by Gideon” in London, which mainly focuses on luxury fashion sweaters. His brand made its debut in 2008, at the Paris Fashion Week, receiving wide acclaim from the international fashion industry for its unique design and workmanship. His 2010 Spring/Summer Collection won him the Young Menswear Designer Award at the Berlin Fashion Week. He was further invited to showcase his 2013 Autumn/Winter Collection at the Copenhagen Fashion Week. In 2014, he established in Macao “KC GIDEON”, a menswear brand aimed at young people.

Kitty Ng,  is a veteran in the clothing and fashion industry for more than 30 years. She has served in different positions, namely, production supervisor at a fashion factory, technician and training instructor at the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre, and guest lecturer at the School of Arts of the Macao Polytechnic Institute. She worked as an image designer and stage costume maker for famous singers, artists and models in China, Hong Kong and Macao and at the Miss Hong Kongpageant. She was technical advisor and a jury member for a number of significant fashion shows. She has also worked with various government departments and private organizations in Macao as a designer, producer and technical consultant for production of their uniforms. Currently, she is a fashion designer managing her own fashion brand “La Mode Désir”, with its boutique and design studio.

Kitty designs and produces garments as well as acts as a technical adviser for many government departments and private organizations. She is one of the founding members and president of Macao Local Fashion Designers’ Society. Kitty now works as a fashion designer. Owns her personal fashion label “La mode Désir”, and runs her own boutique and workshop.

Akina Lei, graduated in Multi-Media Design at Macao Polytechnic Institute, and went on to obtaining the Fashion Design & Manufacturing Diploma at The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM). In the few years following her graduation, Akina has gained her experiences as a Fashion Merchandiser and Image Consultant,both positions at staple corporate in Macau, which had led her to find inspiration in creating her own collection and was featured alongside other designers at fashion shows and exhibitions. With positive response received from the field, Akina started her fashion label “Salut, ca va ?” in 2010.

Brand：“Salut, ca va ?”－ a casual and warm “Hello, how are you?” revolves around us every day, and the meaning stays the same regardless which hour of the day it is being said. Just as our brand stays true to preserve timelessness and remain unaffected by perceived trends, we believe it is most important to create pieces that fit our patrons. Established in Macau, a city enriched by Continental-European cultures, we hope to reflect this uniqueness through the French phrase, and also the vintage, lace designs in our feminine pieces, infused with romanticism.   One of the local Macau fashion brands, “Salut, ca va ?” is a women’s wear established in 2010, with a signature style in feminism and vintage romanticism,various collections featuring casual wear and attires perfect for special occasions.“Salut, ca va ?” offers tailor made services for male and female clients. Some of our creations include bridal gowns, cocktail dresses and special requested outfits for artists. In 2014, “Salut, ca va ?” began its own workshop to further evolve as an independent fashion brand, with an added focus on providing image consultation and costume design for clients including associations and corporations.

Stella Tang, president of the Macao Local Fashion Designers’ Society. Currently working as the designer for her own studio “STELLA ESTILISTA”, which has been established for more than ten years. The studio focuses on design and production of uniforms for government and private organizations. She graduated from the Fashion Design course of CADI Macao in 1990 and won a 2nd place award in the Graduation Show. Since 2002, she has participated in many major fashion shows organized by the Government to promote Macao. At the same year, she established her own fashion label “REVIVAL”. She won bronze medal in Jeanswest Fashion Award Competition in Beijing in 2003. At the same year, she designed and produced uniforms for The Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries. In 2009, she became the Chief Organizer for the “Grand Elegance” large-scale Fashion Show to celebrate the National Day of the Republic of China and the Anniversary of Macao Handover. She was also the Chief Organizer for the “Fantasia Wardrobe” Fashion Show at St. Lazarus Church. In recent years, she is invited to be the guest instructor at the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center to nurture a new generation of designers.

Wang Chengwu , engaged in the advanced studies at Chongqing Clothing School of Art and attended the fashion design courses at CPTTM, the designer has won several arts and fashion design awards in a period of several years as one of the top designers. In 1992,he founded Hongmei Fashion•Uniform Limited to focuson uniform design. He has accumulated richexperience in design and worked for a number of listedcompanies as image consultant, making his a popular senior designer in the industry.

Fanny Law, fashion designer with her own studio.  Currently also working as appointed instructor for CPTTM House of Apparel Technology.

Fanny works with a wide range of fashion designs and creative accessories, from wedding dress, evening dress, stage costume, to uniform. In 1990, she moved from Hong Kong to Macao and started her own brand “Fanny Collection”.

In Macao, she offers her design service to many different organizations, including TV station, resorts, beauty centers, and government departments. In 1988, she worked with a Taiwanese singer to design and produce his stage costumes for his Beijing concert.

KC Gideon, was born of a knitting family in Macau. Influenced by his family, he was especially fond of fashion since he was very young. KC Gideon headed for the Britain when he was sixteen, subsequently majored in design in the famous Kingston University, which laid foundation for his fashion dreams. In the year of 2000, he won the annual menswear design award from the London Royal Association of Art in the UK, which led the outside begin to pay attention to this new star in design industry. After he graduated with a first class honor in 2001, his talent and ability brought him precious opportunities to work in several advanced fashion companies from Franc and Britain.

Brand：In 2006, KC Gideon set up personal brand in London of Britain, which mainly focuses on advanced fashion sweaters. This brand began to show up in the Paris Fashion Week since 2008. Ana Cardoso,  early in her childhood the designer learned painting and has once learned painting techniques from the well-known senior painters Miao Pengfei and Yuan Zhiqin in Macao. In 1998 she began working as a model, and then decided to attend relevant courses and stop modeling. She continued to participate and organized several fashion design shows. After completing the master programme of fashion design, she began todesign and make clothes for different magazines.In 2010 after she returned to Macao,her career as a fashion designer began. She has also been given the Award of Merit in the Fashion Painting Competition organized by CPTTM. In addition to operating her own brand, she is engaged in education to cultivate a new generation of fashion designers in Macao.

Chris Chan, who is born and raised in Macao. After graduating from Fashion Design Program in CADI Macao, Chris became very active in the Macao fashion design scene. Chris participated in many fashion shows organized by the Macao Government, bringing his original designs and imaginative fashions to the audiences. Chris was highly praised in his costume design efforts for Macao’s very first created-in-Macao musical “Macao Bride”. In 2002, Chris launched his own fashion label, “Owner.”

Clara Brito, was born in Lisbon, Portugal. She holds a Graduate Degree in Equipment Design by the Lisbon School of Fine Arts (2003)

She furthered her studies of Fashion and Design at the Milan Polytechnic Institute/School of Architecture and Design(under the Erasmus Program). Clara Brito developed individual projects that deserved the highest distinctions, and was subsequently invited by Prof. and Designer Rafaella Mangiarotti to show her work at the Deep Design studio.

In Lisbon she has developed projects in interior, equipment and fashion design, awarded by Prof. and Designer Ron Arad, which won her a place at the Salone of the Milan Design Biennale.Clara Brito has shown her pieces at several venues in Portugal, among which the piece“Enrola”at Lidija Kolovrat’s‘Pedro e O Lobo ‘Gallery.She participated in the 5th Fashion “Humen Cup “International Youth Design Contest (Women’s Wear) and received the honorable mention awarded by Li Dong Qi, the vice-president of the Association of Chinese Fashion Designers.

The designer created and coordinated the workshop‘ Mira Ó Vestido ’included in the exhibition ‘Blue Fascination ’at the Macau Art Museum. In 2006, Clara Brito established the brand/laboratory Lines Lab together with designer Manuel CS. Lines Lab is a creative agency on the global Lusophone Top 20 ranking by Monocle Magazine & A Must See according to the new York Times. Based in Macau | China and Lisbon | Portugal, Lines Lab is committed in full to the equation of objects, people and events.
