The Macao Fashion Gallery strives to promote the development of the fashion design industry in Macao. The “Pop-up shop” is held once again to showcase and sell local original clothing items for a limited period of time, in order to help local fashion designers expand the market for their products and generate business opportunities, as well as to provide multiple sales channels for Macao’s local fashion brands. This edition of the “Exclusive Fashion Collections Pop-up Shop” features six fashion brands, namely, AXOXYXOXS, GELÉE, MACON, SOUL, Worker Playground and ZICS.
AXOXYXOXS
AXOXYXOXS, established in 2015, symbolises a group of people who do not wish to be labelled or confined by traditional conventions. Instead, they wish to pursue freedom, independence and their own dreams. AXOXYXOXS’s designs accent details and originality with an emphasis on wearability and mix-and-match, and its effortless minimalist cuts demonstrating a low-key, graceful and casual urban chic style. AXOXYXOXS’s designs has been exhibited at the Macao Fashion Gallery and the “Macao Emerging Fashion Exhibition”. In addition, it was selected as eligible brand of the “Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making” launched by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government.
GELÉE
In French, “GELÉE” means “jelly”. It is a dessert mixed with water, sugar, fruit juice and edible gelatin. The brand spirit of “GELÉE” is best described by jelly’s changeable shapes and sweet taste. GELÉE hopes to create avant-garde and artistic clothing items through meticulous transformation of fabrics and boundless creativity, so that people can demonstrate infinite possibilities and fun when mixing and matching their outfits.
MACON
MACON is an original fashion brand introduced by Fuson Garment Factory Limited in 2013. It is also the first Macao fashion brand that has successfully launched on the shopping platform TMall.com. By now, MACON has a brick-and-mortar shop in mainland China, attracting lots of shoppers and earning great reviews. By integrating its design concepts with Macao’s characteristics as a city of leisure and tourism, it advocates downshifting and travelling light. Its products aim to be comfortable and simple, thereby injecting a boost of unisex and arty youthfulness.
SOUL
SOUL, created in 2016, features black and white as its main colour scheme. With asymmetrical designs as its highlight, it combines 3D cutting, high quality fabric and professional tailoring to offer both quality and comfort. The brand exemplifies modern women’s unique character and style, accentuating women’s creativity, wisdom and charm. In addition to being the eligible brand of the “2016 Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making” launched by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, SOUL was also a selected project of the Cultural Industries Fund of Macao.
Worker Playground
Worker Playground, founded in 2012, was named after Macao’s long-gone Workers’ Stadium. Worker Playground is known for manufacturing jackets with designs incorporating the historical elements of Macao, which include Macao’s aviation history, Macao’s scenery in the old days, the once-popular sports jai alai and hockey, as well as the varying lifestyles and cultures of different districts in Macao. “For Boys Want to Be Men, For Men Want to Be Boys” is the latest slogan of Worker Playground. It demonstrates that Worker Playground target customers include both young and grown men, thus putting forward the brand’s “ageless” spirit.
ZICS
ZICS was created in 2009, using black, white and grey as the main colour scheme to create a unisex and individualistic urban chic style. Inspired by the diversity of urban life, ZICS developed its experimental design themes. By adopting minimalist cuts, not only are ZICS’s designs wearable, but they also reveal subtle details and personalisation. Furthermore, ZICS’s unique wardrobe explores the possibilities of asymmetry and layering. It is ZICS’s aim to establish a subtle bond between the wearer and the city by bridging the two with every ZICS garment.
Organized by Macao Fashion Gallery, the 2018 Brand Story—Pop-up Shop will bring fashion lovers a new shopping experience with designs from six fashion labels of 2018 Brand Story—Macao Original Fashion Exhibition, including I.N.K, JADE.L, alexis jordan, Nega C., Denimworks and ella épeler, to be showcased and on sale from 6th January to 1st July at the Gallery.
I.N.K
I.N.K was co-founded in 2016 by fashionista Inky Leong and designer Kris Chan from Macao. The brand name created with their initials denotes “ink” and connotes “idea overflow in ink”, that is, translation of inspirations into memorable ink creations. With an emphasis on innovation and cultural diversity, I.N.K develops original, market-oriented series using local cultural elements, including those of art and music to spread the spirit of Macao’s fashion brands.
JADE.L
Established in 2014, JADE.L conveys the aesthetic concept of gender-neutrality. The brand interprets uniqueness and individuality through different uses of fabric textures and design details, giving an air of high-class and youthfulness to every line of its products. JADE.L takes “Be Yourself” as the brand purpose, advocating the link of branded clothing to expression of distinctiveness and beauty rather than representing the trend, while striving to promote local fashion label of neutrality.
alexis jordan
Established in 2014, at alexis jordan, we believe in producing premium menswear focused entirely on the marriage between style, function and versatility. Each piece is designed to take you seamlessly from a boardroom meeting to a trendy downtown lounge.
With an internationally renowned team of designers and dressmakers, alexis jordan uses fabrics exclusively from high quality foreign sources. As such we offer the modern gentleman a selection of clothes that is both modern and charismatic, characterized by the perfect combination between comfort and luxury.
Nega C.The fashion label was established in 2011. In the beginning, the label focused on designing theatre costumes and shoes. In 2012, their first women’s wear boutique opened in Macao. Later, they expanded their lines to cover ready-to-wear women’s clothes.
“The life you love, the love you live” has always been the design principle of Nega C. The label loves life, creating fashion for active women, unrestrained by age. Living a leisurely life is their main concept, fusing with street culture, music, and art to create a style that is cute, naughty, and hip.
DenimworksDenimworks was created as a Macao jean brand in 2015 with an aim to preserve and inherit the local techniques of jean clothing production. Named with “Denim”, an essential jean clothing element, the brand adheres to the original idea of simplicity and comfort for jean clothing from choosing fabric materials, through design to production. By doing so, Denimworks aspires to produce jean pieces that best suit the majority of the community, allowing shoppers to select their matching clothes in a relaxing mood while being at leisure.
ella épeler
Founded in 2015, ella épeler is a female fashion label that upholds quality living marked by avant-garde pursuits and audacious attempts in different areas, with lasting curiosity and innocence in the process of aging. The brand’s innovative designs feature original illustrations and special, playful cutting among other elements, evidencing the designer’s personal style.
To promote Macao’s Fashion Industry, the Macao Fashion Gallery (MFG) continues to hold the brand event “Pop Up Shop”. We will exhibit and sell original apparel and accessories designed by local designers in a designated period of time, in order to help them develop business opportunities and provide more sales channels for local products. The Winter Pop Up Shop includes six local brands this time, namely alexis jordan, GELÉE, MACON, NEGA C., SOUL and Worker Playground.

Jelly’s changing shape and sweet temperament embodies the spirit of the brand “GELÉE”. We hope to create avant-garde clothing through transforming fabrics, a special touch to showcase the uniqueness of our garments.
MACON
MACON was created in 2013. It was the first Macao fashion label to sell online on TMall.com, an integrated online shopping platform in Asia. The MACON design concept revolves around “Live Slow, Travel Light”. The label features simple and comfortable clothes that emanate a neutral, artsy, and youthful sense for its wearers.
NEGA C.
The fashion label was established in 2011. In the beginning, the label focused on designing theatre costumes and shoes. In August of 2012, their first women’s wear boutique opened in Macao. Later, they expanded their lines to cover ready-to-wear women’s clothes.

SOUL
SOUL is a womenswear fashion label, created in 2016. Soul adopts black and white as its theme, using high quality fabric, professional tailoring, and 3D cutting to create an asymmetric style which articulates the distinct personality and beauty of a curvy woman. The label aims to showcase the intelligence and individual charm of women while maintaining quality and comfort for the wearer.
Worker Playground
Worker Playground was founded in 2010, a fashion label that reflects the street culture of Macao. The label uses the old Macau Workers Stadium as its design concept and namesake, tying into the collective memory and sentiment of Macao people. The label focuses on menswear, using variations of classic style as its theme, adding Macao elements such as Macao’s aviation history, rock-n-roll festival, Macao specialty sport Jai Alai and hockey, as well as the Macao Grand Prix, which are cleverly placed in the design of the clothes. By manifesting local culture, the label aims to produce a classic yet original style of clothing, different from what can be found elsewhere.
To support the “Brand Stories – Created in Macao Fashion Exhibition”, Macao Fashion Gallery has especially created the “Brand Stories – Pop-up Shop” to sell the designed-in-Macao products by the six local fashion labels showcased at the event. They are, MACON, JADE.L, Worker Playground, Soul, ZICS, and Salut ça va?. Macao Fashion Gallery hopes that with such a sales platform, more business opportunities can be developed for local fashion brands, so as to increase their exposure and promote Macao original designs.
MACON
MACON was created in 2013 and it was the very first created-in-Macao fashion label that went on TMall.com, the largest integrated online shopping platform in Asia. The MACON design concept revolves around “Live Slow, Travel Light”. The label features simple, comfortable clothes that give wearers a gender-neutral, artsy, and youthful look.
JADE.L
JADE.L was created in 2014. The label expresses gender-neutral aesthetics through texture and details in products, infusing individuality into every design. “Be Yourself” is the brand philosophy, for the designer believes that JADE.L clothing is not necessarily trendy, but it represents distinctive beauty and style, aiming to become a powerful, unisex fashion brand of Macao.
Worker Playground
Founded in 2010, Worker Playground is a street culture clothing brand of Macao. The brandname and design philosophy were inspired by the collective memory of the old Worker’s Sports Field, in Macau downtown, where today stands the Grand Lisboa. Its main line consists of men’s wear featuring classic designs combined with Macao elements to highlight local culture. The brand aims to create unique, classical styles with local characteristics.
Soul
Soul is a women’s wear fashion label created in 2016. With a black and white colour palette, the brand designs combine high quality fabric, meticulous sewing, and 3D cutting to create an asymmetrical outfit that conveys the distinct personality and style of modern women. The label aims to show the innovative intelligence and individual charms of women without compromising quality and comfort.
ZICS
ZICS was created in 2009. Its designer only uses black, white, and grey to develop experimental themes, launching gender-neutral chic styles that explore the possibilities of asymmetry and layering. ZICS collections have been shown in “Macao Fashion Festival” and “Hong Kong Fashion Week”. The designer loves to explore an array of creative forms, including stage costumes and fashion accessories.
Salut, ça va ?
The label was founded in 2010. “Salut, ça va?” is French for “Hello, are you fine?” a friendly greeting for any occasion. As such the brand insists on trend-defying timeless design styles. Retro, romantic, feminine designs have become a key feature of “Salut, ça va?”, oozing nostalgic French culture in every aspect. The label offers daily wear and special occasion wear. It also provides custom tailoring services for both men and women.
To promote Macao Fashion Industry, the Macao Fashion Gallery (MFG) continues to hold the brand activity “Pop Up Shop” in 2017. We will exhibit and sell original apparel and accessories of local designers in a designated period of time, in order to help them develop business opportunities and provide more sales channels for local products. The Spring Pop Up Shop includes six local brands this time: “AURALO ARTE”, “AXOXYXOXS”, “JADE.L”, “Lalaismi Wai”, “MACON”and “ZICS”.
“AURALO ARTE”,features a perfect combination of art and gorgeousness, designing trendy and unique clothes. Haute couture production methods have been employed in every detail. The colors of the couture show a beautiful evolution and illusion from black to multi-color, just like the aurora dancing beautifully in the dark night.
“AXOXYXOXS” represents a group of people who are not labeled or confined by convention, instead, pursuing freedom, independence and dreams.
AXOXYXOXS’ design accents details and originality without the sacrifice of being wearable and easy to mix & match. Minimalist cuttings with unconscious details present low-key, graceful and casual urban chic. AXOXYXOXS conveys an uncompromising attitude and ambition for change.
“JADE.L” is a local fashion label, focusing on the idea of neutral aesthetics. With the persistence of revealing its product’s texture and detail, JADE.L penetrated its own style in its products. JADE.L designs are strongly inspired by the idea “Be yourself”, therefore, its products are not focusing on fashion trend, but to show its unique interpretation of beauty and style, building up a Macao local neutral fashion label.
“Lalaismi Wai” is a brand named after the designer Lalaismi Wai, who launches the brand with her own girly-glam dressing style that is rich in color and uses lots of printings. Lalaismi Wai focuses on easy mix & match of comfortable, personalized and simple fashions, bringing unique daily clothing style for girls.
“MACON”, founded in 2013. It is the first original Macao brand to launch on T-Mall, an online integrated shopping platform. The design style of MACON centers on “slow life, light trip”, with its products having comfort and simplicity as their main tone to create the sense of unisex and youth arts.
“ZICS” brand was established in 2009. The design is experimenting with black, grey and white, by finding the level of layering and asymmetry. This is a boyfriend smart style collection, and has once exhibited at Macau Fashion Festival and Hong Kong Fashion Week. It is expanding to different fashion areas, such as theatrical costumes and accessories.
