Workshop on “Silk Painting – An Art Heritage with A Millennium History”

In conjunction with the exhibition organized by Macao Fashion Gallery, “Hang Zhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Conservation Project ‘Silk Painting’ Craft Exhibition – QIU Haisuo ’s Silk Painting Art”, the workshop on “Silk Painting – An Art Heritage with A Millennium History” is specially held. The workshop invites Professor QIU Haisuo from China Academy of Art (Hang Zhou) to be the speaker. During the workshop, Professor QIU will share his researches and innovative practices on traditional Chinese silk painting, as well as demonstrating silk painting skills on site. Through learning and appreciating silk painting, the participants will definitely be enlightened of a new sense of beauty of life.

Speaker:

QIU Haisuo is currently a professor of China Academy of Art, the project leader of “Hang Zhou Silk Painting” – intangible cultural heritage protection and Chairman of Zhe Jiang Folk Artists Association. Both China National Silk Museum and Hang Zhou Arts & Crafts Museum have collections of his silk painting works and his works attract great attention. Professor QIU boasts a large number of awarded painted silk clothes, with the major works: The Story of Spring won the gold award in the Design Category of the 9th National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts and the gold award in the Design Category of the 10th Zhe Jiang Province Fine Arts Exhibition, and anther work The Eternal Rose was selected as an exhibited work in the 10th National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts.

1. Introduce the traditional silk painting skills.

2. Display the combinations of modern fashions and traditional silk painting skills.

3. Demonstrate silk painting skills on site.
